The warm Gulf Stream generates a mild warm climate with fertile lush meadows producing perfect grazing for dairy cattle. The Cleddau Rivers that irrigate the county rise in the magical rocky Preseli Hills in the North of the county and flow Southwards to the Sea.
Our Farmers take advantage of the Early Spring and mild winters producing fresh milk ideal for their cheesemaking plant at Merlin's Bridge.

Since opening in 1930 the Creamery has employed generations of the same families, earning its place at the heart of the local Community. Many of our employees have worked here for over 30 and some 40 years, passing on their knowledge to the next generation.
One of those is Alan Roberts who started at site 32 years ago and is now one of our Senior Cheesemakers and like father like son, he is training his son to do the same.

Producing milk doesn’t get much simpler or natural than it does around our Haverfordwest creamery. Lots of luscious grass grows… the cows eat it … produce milk… which our creamery collects and works its magic to produce delicious cheese.

Two years ago George Llewellin and his family faced a stark choice: their dairy unit at Lower House, Clarbeston, Pembrokeshire had seen better days and they had to either get out of milk or make a major investment to stay in by substantially modernising their set-up.
